The Air Force Small Business Technology Transfer (AF STTR) program, a $97M small business program, is reaching out to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with an opportunity for funding research and development through strategic partnerships with small businesses. The Air Force SBIR/STTR is setup to address barriers that exist in the traditional Air Force Acquisition process. The AF SBIR/STTR has expanded the use of Open Topic solicitations, eliminating lengthy and cumbersome proposal processes.

The DAF participates in Department of Defense (DoD) solicitations three times per year. The next solicitation, 22.1A, is currently scheduled for a December 1st pre-release with proposals due February 10th.

DoD Other Transaction Authorities (OTA) and the new Tradewind AI OTA

The Wright Brothers Institute Small Business Hub is pleased to provide an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Collider event in partnership with the Indiana Innovation Institute (IN3) the operator of the Tradewind OTA and the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) on September 15, 2021 from 1:30pm-4:00pm (EST) at the WBI – 444 facility. Much has been said, written, and heard about OTAs but many remain either confused or unaware of what they are, who can use them, or how they should be used.
